My Traffic Violations Practice
I represent individuals, including students at Northern Colorado University and Colorado State University, who have been charged with violating state and municipal traffic laws. I take all types of misdemeanor traffic cases, including speeding and reckless driving. I handle charges involving the use of alcohol or drugs with operating a motor vehicle, including:
- Driving under the influence (DUI), and the lesser included offense of driving while intoxicated (DWI)
- Driving while ability impaired (DWAI)
- Underage drinking or minors in possession
When I take your DUI/DWI or traffic charge, I will conduct a thorough investigation of the facts and evidence to ensure that your constitutional rights were not violated. I will review the police report and talk to witnesses to determine whether there was probable cause to pull you over or to issue a citation. I will verify that you were advised of your rights before you made any statements to the police. I will also examine the evidence to confirm that field sobriety and blood alcohol tests were properly administered.
If I discover irregularities, I will seek the exclusion of evidence and/or the dismissal of charges. There are potential defenses to a DUI charge. You need an experienced lawyer who will effectively protect your interests in court.
